Currently I'm writing this blog post in Carrie and Kevin's house while I cat-sit for them during the holiday weekend. Thought this stay-cation would be a good chance to update my blog that I've long forgotten with stress of finals and thesis projects and family affairs. Take a vacation with me back to times when rain was warm and trees had beautiful colored leaves. We shot this fall session on Carrie and Kevin's one year anniversary. I'm so thankful for their friendship & for letting me hang out with them on their special day.
Last weekend I headed to Milwaukee to take pictures of my aunts Stacy and Michele. After 6 hours in the car (2 of which spent in downtown Chicago traffic) and 2 pit stops, I made it to their home in Whitefish Bay. It was my first time in Milwaukee and I loved it. For our photo shoot we drove a mile to the beach and adventured down the coastline. It was awesome to see my aunts outside of the chaos of the holidays. We got to spend real time together. This year they've been together seven years so they figured it was about time to get a few photographs for their house.
"What kind of gay couple would we be if we didn't get a picture with our dog?"
i got to spend my last friday in michigan for the summer doing what i love most: photographing happy people. simon and emma asked me to photograph their wedding 4 days before i left for kenya and were incredible patient with my slow communication across the atlantic. i felt honored to share and document this experience with them.
their big day was full of warmth and smiles.
below are some of my favorite shots from the day!
